Importing Data from STR Global
How to create a comma-separated data file for importing STR Global data into RIBOS
Overview
Data from STR Global consists of summary room occupancy figures for particular sectors rather than individual establishments. In order to import the data you need to create individual profiles to match the sectors that are being imported. You create all the profiles under a single contact.
For example, if you receive data by county, create a profile for each county. You will only be able to enter a few profile categories for these records but they will be included in the just the analysis for those categories that can be completed.
Bedspaces and Weighting
If your survey is weighted by bedspaces, you will need to calculate or estimate the bedspaces available for each sector/profile, and include these figures in the imported data.
Formats
There are two STR Global import formats, one for data that just specifies totals for each individual month, the other for data that is split out into each day of the month. In each case the data must be presented as a comma-separated file, with column headings that match those expected by the import process.
